Vodafone is offering “nearly new” pre-owned smartphones at a discount to prepaid and postpaid customers, the company said yesterday.
The offer makes it affordable for customers to get a “nearly new” smartphone. The offer is aimed at customers who have yet to make the leap to a smartphone or would like to get a second smartphone.
“Nearly new” handsets are phones that have been returned in very good condition by Vodafone customers less than seven days after the purchase. All the handsets come with a six-month warranty and go through a 60-point series of checks and processes (including a full security wipe) before being placed on the scheme, and are re-boxed. The quality check includes a review of the power, display, audio, keypad, GPS and screen rotation, advanced functionality, Wi-Fi and Bluetooth, software and cosmetics.
The “nearly new” offer is available exclusively at the Vodafone e-shop, www.vodafone.qa/Nearlynew, with new devices added on a regular basis. At launch, the nearly new section will offer a selection of iPhones with additional brands, tablets and USB sticks coming soon. Due to variations in the returned handsets, the handset ranges will vary on a monthly basis. “Most importantly, each nearly new device is bundled with either a prepaid or postpaid plan offering customers consistent and fast mobile Internet with great rates per MB and flexible voice, SMS and data packages,” Marc Norris, Chief Commercial officer for Vodafone Qatar, said.
