Vodafone Names National Day Competition Winners

Out of hundreds of entries, Mr. Ahmed Al-Jaber was chosen as the winner of Vodafone's "Share your Pride and Win" competition for the most striking car decoration. An ecstatic Mr. Al Jaber was handed his prizes today at Vodafone's office consisting of QR10,000, Vodafone's National Day Trophy, a special Star number, the new 3G BlackBerry Curve and a Freedom 550 plan. "Share your Pride and Win" was open to everyone in Qatar to decorate their cars in a creative way then simply upload a picture of the car to Vodafone's specially created National Day website www.nationalday2010.com. In addition, Vodafone had photographers along the Corniche grabbing photos of all the amazingly decorated cars. All of the entries to the competition can be viewed at www.nationalday2010.com. As for Vodafone's art competition "Qatar National Day through my eyes" open to 5 schools in Doha, it too was very popular with the school children. A jury that included the Qatari painter Eman Ghafan Al Basti chose Miss Gharam Ali Al Mannai from Al Bayan School as the winner of the best artistic representation. The other four winners were named as 1- Alaa Talal Mohammed- Arwa Bint Abdulmuttalib Secondary independent School, 3- Manar Khalid Mohammad- Royal International Primary School 4- Naima Hafeth- Umm Salama Primary Independent School 5- Sara Mohammed Al Kubaisi- Al Markhiya Primary independent school In addition to running competitions on National Day, Vodafone shared its pride and excitement on National Day with the wider public by distributing Qatari flags, Qatari scarves, car stickers and QR 3 worth of free credit to allow people to share their joy with a local or international call to a family member or friend. To also allow people to share their pride with the world, Vodafone introduced a special 45 Dirhams calling rate to anywhere in the world.
