Vodafone donates US$2,500,000 to support ROTA projects

Reach Out To Asia (ROTA) has received its largest corporate donation after Vodafone Qatar gave the educational development charity US$2,500,000 (QR9,000,000) to support projects in Nepal, Indonesia and Qatar, the partners announced during a Doha press conference Guided by Chairperson Her Excellency Sheikha Mayassa bint Hamad Al Thani, Reach Out To Asia is a non-profit, non-governmental organization built on the principle that every man, woman and child in Asia should have access to quality education, regardless of age, gender or circumstance. Vodafones donation to Reach Out To Asia will strengthen Qatars efforts to build the capacity of Asian schools and educational facilities. The Vodafone-ROTA partnership represents a full commitment from Qatars leading mobile phone operator to support the delivery of all three ROTA projects. Every month a joint steering committee will review project progress while Vodafone executives and staff will visit project schools to share their knowledge and expertise with ROTA project managers.
