The Pearl-Qatar’s new Domenico Vacca boutique has posted record sales of $700,000 within a week of opening, it was announced yesterday. The globally acclaimed Vacca’s work has been described by the Italian media as ‘the Ferrari of clothing.’ Scores of his private VIP clients flocked to the new shop, where they were fitted with ready-to-wear and custom-made suits and shirts and made private purchases. Jackets, suits as well as shirts and blouses were popular items among the clients. The 230sq m boutique, the first of Vacca’s outlets to open in the Middle East, stands out with its sleek New Age design, marble floors, hand-crafted Italian furniture and the famous baby blue leather armchairs. The world famous fashion designer has his other outlets in New York, Los Angeles, Miami and Moscow. Domenico Vacca’s customers include Hollywood’s biggest names such as Mickey Rourke, Forest Whitaker, Usher, Jamie Foxx, Sean “Diddy” Combs, Renee Zellweger, Glenn Close, Antonio Banderas, Scarlett Johansson, and Sharon Stone as well as New York City’s Fortune 500 and VIPs such as Ivana Trump and designers Valentino and Tommy Hilfiger.
