At least 17 accredited American Universities will take part in the US University Fair to be held at Marriott Hotel here today.
The organisers, Linden International Recruitment Tours, said the prestigious American varsities Bryant University, University of Denver, Portland State University, Florida Institute of Technology, Seattle University, Western Michigan University, University of Kentucky, Ohio Weslyan University, Loyola University Chicago and Rutgers, The State University of New Jersey would participate in the roadshow.
The education fair, which attracted a large number of students and parents last year, will open at 6am. Endicott College, University of Minnesota Suffolk University, Syracuse University and Fairleigh Dickenson University have also confirmed their presence at the roadshow.
Through the recruitment tour and consulting, Linden Educational Services will assist international students to enroll in the US accredited universities. Over the last several years, Linden has organised more than hundred recruitment tours for US universities to Asia, Middle East, Europe, Latin America and the Caribbean, as well as 28 overseas programmes for small groups.
The organisers said of the total students who attended the 2008 Linden Education Fair, 43 per cent were Qatari students. Of the total enrolled students 86 percent were male and 14 percent female. 69 percent of the students wanted to do undergraduate study and 22 percent master’s degrees.
Thirty-seven percent students wanted a degree in business and management, 22 percent in engineering and 10 percent in computer science and information technology.
The average TOEFL score of those who had taken the exam was 482 (paper) and 104 (Internet-Based Test).
Linden staff members are education and enrollment management experts with extensive international experience. All are active members of Association of International Educators and the Overseas Association of College Admission Counsellors.
