Qatar Charity’s field teams began providing urgent relief to those affected by the earthquake that struck Morocco on Friday, 8 September 2023, through its office there, in conjunction with Qatar Charity’s launch of the “Urgent Relief for Morocco” campaign to mitigate the effects of the earthquake.

The aid, which was distributed to those affected, included drinking water, blankets and hot meals. Food baskets containing basic food supplies will also be distributed starting today.

Engineer Khaled Al-Yafei, Director of the Emergency and Relief Department at Qatar Charity, said: “Our field teams began providing aid and assistance to our brothers in Morocco from the first day due to the presence of a Qatar Charity field office there, and they are still continuing their efforts around the clock.”
He added, "The situation there is very difficult and the extent of the destruction is enormous, and we will work, through an urgent relief campaign for Morocco, to provide the necessary support to those affected in order to overcome this ordeal."
Al-Yafei urged the good people in Qatar to quickly provide a helping hand to alleviate the great loss and provide the necessary support to the families of the victims and the injured.

It is worth noting that the number of victims of the earthquake in Morocco reached 2,012 deaths and 2,059 injuries, including 1,404 serious injuries
