Unsettled weather to continue in the next few days: scattered rain, thunderstorms

In a weather bulletin issued by the Qatar Meteorology Department last March 15, 2020, unsettled weather conditions on intermittent periods from today March 18, 2020, until the beginning of next week is expected in the country. Thundery rain accompanied by hail was reported today by Qatar Met on its social media accounts.

It was also mentioned that during this period, the cloud amount increases gradually with a chance of scattered rain that may become thundery at times accompanied by the strong wind causing blowing dust and low visibility in some areas. The rain during this period is known for fast thunderstorm formations during a short period of time over a limited area usually in evening and night time. The prevailing wind during this period will be Northeasterly to Southeasterly moderate to fresh becoming strong at times especially during expected thunderstorms causing wave height to rise to more than 8 feet.

Maximum temperatures are expected to range between 27 to 32 degrees Celsius and minimums between 18 to 23 degrees Celsius in different regions. Therefore, all are kindly asked to be careful, avoid going to sea due to unsettled weather conditions.
