According to Buhaza's nephew, his Uncle was on a fishing trip by himself, something he had done many times before. He said his Uncle began his boat ride at about 1 pm on 25 January 2021 in the Thakira Sea, but in the evening, at about 6:15 pm, his boat was found in the Arada area less than a kilometre away from where he started. His personal belongings were found in the boat, but there was no sign of him, after which a missing person's report was filed, according to another Al-Sharq report.
The Coast Guards sent out a search and rescue party was sent out to the area and they searched for Buhaza till sunrise this morning. Just before 8 am, his family received word that Buhaza's body had been found in the water.
