Turkey on Friday arrested two alleged intelligence operatives working on behalf of the United Arab Emirates, Anadolu Agency (AA) reported judicial sources as saying. According to the AA, the suspects were arrested as part of a probe by Istanbul prosecutors of alleged spying by the Gulf state.
It is investigating whether the arrival in Turkey of one of them was related to the murder of Saudi journalist Jamal Khashoggi, a senior Turkish official said on Friday. The suspects were later referred to court on charges of political and military espionage, it added. (QNA)
