The General Traffic Department stressed the importance of adhering to the speed limits on the roads, noting that mobile radar patrols have been intensified on all internal and external roads as part of its plans to reduce traffic accidents.

First Lieutenant Rashid Khamis Al Kubaisi, the moving radar officer, said, in a video published by the General Traffic Department on its Twitter account, that

"The General Traffic Department stresses the importance of adhering to the specified speeds on the roads, as excessive and insane speed is one of the most prominent causes of traffic accidents that result in deaths and severe injuries."

He added:

"Within the framework of the General Traffic Department's plans to reduce traffic accidents, mobile radars have been intensified on all internal and external roads, and civil and military patrols have been intensified with the aim of monitoring speeding violations through mobile radars."

First Lieutenant Rashid Khamis Al Kubaisi noted that with regard to the "zero" speeding penalties, the vehicle is impounded and its driver is transferred to the competent authorities to complete the legal procedures.
