Tourism body unveils new strategy at mart

Qatar Tourism and Exhibitions Authority (QTEA) unveiled its new worldwide strategy to promote Qatar as a unique and world class destination at the World Travel Market (WTM) which concluded in London recently. QTEA’s new logo with a Qaf symbol showing Qatar’s vision was also released at the event. “I am delighted that so many commercial opportunities presented themselves at the world Travel Market,” said Ahmed Al Nuaimi, chairman of QTEA. “Tourism in Qatar is business-oriented with unique tourism attractions to offer. It is a world-class destination. The launch of QTEA’s new logo and strategy was extremely successful, and we look forward to using the new contacts made at WTM to increase business and upscale leisure tourism in Qatar.” The business and tourism professionals endorsed the strategy to promote Qatar to the important European market, by focusing on buyers from Meetings, Incentive, Conference and Exhibition (MICE) and leisure sector, among them conference and exhibitions organizers, business people and boards of tourism authorities. The WTM also gave QTEA a unique opportunity to launch its new identity and logo to a range of professionals within the tourism industry. The new logo was well received with visitors admiring the sleek and contemporary seal, which still manages to convey Qatar’s traditional heritage.
