Excited for Eid al-Fitr? We know we are! Although we’re sad to say goodbye to another enchanting and virtuous Ramadan for this year, the events and festivities taking place during this Eid will uplift us! Eid has arrived to bring us together and celebrate with our families, friends, and loved ones . For Muslims and non-Muslims in Qatar alike, Eid al-Fitr is a blessing to look forward to during the hot summer. Some of us get time off from work and school, but all of us receive the gift of collective happiness and fun!

What you can look forward to and expect is gathered here in this round up of the most exciting events for Eid al-Fitr 2017. Plan your days with your loved ones around fun games and rides, captivating shows, refreshing water sports, enticing brunches, and action-packed festivals! Whatever you’re looking for, you’ll surely find something that catches your eye on this list!

Fun at the Pearl

Enjoy a stroll along Porto Arabia to 29 La Croisette with your family for fun activities. On the first three days of Eid between 6:00 pm and 10:00 pm, there will be performances, arts and crafts for the little ones, cupcake decorating workshops, an instant photo booth and other surprises. Also, watch out for free popcorn, cotton candy and water!

Non-stop games at Entertainment City

If you’re looking for even more excitement, be sure to drop by Entertainment City. For the first five days of Eid, there is a festival especially made for the occasion at Doha’s Exhibition and Convention Center. With rides, lots of games and live shows all day – every day, you won’t get bored! There is an entrance fee of QR 15, but it might be worth getting a day pass for QR 150.

Pony rides at Al Samariyah Equestrian Center

What’s offered at Al Samariyah Equestrian Center is undeniably for everyone! Beautiful horses are waiting for rides through the farm. The one-hour rides can be purchased for QR 120 for adults and QR 80 for children. Even toddlers can join in the fun! Pony rides for toddlers are 15 minutes each and only cost QR 30

Eid Festival at Katara

Every year, Katara Cultural Village is one of the places you shan’t miss during Eid al-Fitr! Watch the show ‘Stories of Arabic Heritage’ from Sunday until Wednesday and later the fireworks at the beach. The festival starts at 7:30 pm every night and ends at 11:00 pm. Don’t miss out on exciting Eideyaa (“giveaways”) for your kids!

Souq Waqif and Souq al Wakra

If you want more traditional Eid festivities, you should also visit Qatar’s old-style souqs! Enjoy shows, games, shisha and music performances at Souq Waqif for the first 5 days of Eid between 4:00 pm and 10:00 pm, and in Souq Waqif – al Wakra between 5:00 pm and 8:00 pm.

Fun with water! Paddle into Eid!

From June 23th until June 30th, why not try a kayaking tour through the mangroves. The earliest tour starts at 4:00 pm where you can paddle into the sunset. Tickets can be purchased online for QR 200 and includes a barbeque. Comfortable seating is provided, all you need to bring is what you want barbequed!

Eid Wake-boarding

For more water sports, try Qatar Water Sport! Here you can do anything from kite surfing, wake-boarding and wake surfing, all seven days of the week! With the special Eid discount from Qatar Water Sport, an hour of wake-boarding with equipment will only cost you QR 350. Let’s get surfing!

Rent a boat at Aspire

At Aspire this Eid, you can rent paddle boats, radio controlled cars and even track race! The Aspire Eid Festival has fun in store for you, your friends and family! For the first four days of Eid al-Fitr the games begin at 5:00 pm and end at 10:00 pm. With prices as low as QR 20 – 25 it’s definitely worth a trip to Aspire.

Splash through the hot days at the Aqua Park

For five days, starting Sunday, you can join a Hawaiian party called Luau at Qatar’s Aqua Park. Swimming pools, water slides, traditional Hawaiian music, dances and performances, and a feast! What more could you wish for? Photo sessions will also be taking place to capture fun moments with your family!

Paragliding tours at Sealine

For those over 18, consider using this occasion to try paragliding! Aerial Paragliding tours are on offer for five days from 3.30pm until 6.30pm. Indulge in desert sunset views from above this Eid!

Eid al-Fitr shows

There are amazing shows to see and be seen this week. At Lagoona Mall, you can see the exclusive show ‘Beauty and the Beast’! ‘Ice Age’ will be performed at Doha Festival City, ‘The Great Merlin’ at The Mall, and parades and live music can be found at the Mall of Qatar, Gulf Mall and Landmark. Timings for the shows differ, so have a look at the schedules before making your way to one of the malls. If you’re in Al Khor, make sure you check out the Bollywood and hip-hop dance shows, magicians and acro-balance performances at Al Khor Mall between 5:50 pm and 10:30 pm.

Explore a museum!

From the 25th of June until the 2nd of July, the Sheikh Faisal Bin Qassim Al Thani Museum gives the opportunity for a journey through time and place! All days, except for the 30th and 1st, tours start at 9:00 am. On Friday, doors open at 2:00 pm, while the first tour can be booked for 10:00 am on Saturday. With a minimal entry fee of QR 10 for children and QR 15 for adults, this culturally and historically enlightening tour is one of our favorites this Eid.

Discover cultures at Asian Town

A community Eid festival will be taking place at Asian Town in the Industrial Area from 5:00 pm to10:00 pm. The ‘Eid al-Fitr Safety and Security Awareness and Cultural Celebration’ features shows, orchestral performances, community team activities, and awareness programs.

Hotel brunches and offers

When in doubt, an Eid brunch provides the perfect opportunity for family and friends to get together for a meal. There are several brunches offered in Qatar, with our favorites being the Eid brunch at the W Hotel Doha, the St Regis and Doha Marriott. Hotel staycations this Eid are especially affordable at the Oryx Rotana! For 30 hours, two adults and two children can have breakfast, lunch or dinner, enjoy kids activities and discounts on massages for only QR 750! Or how about spending a night at The Torch Hotel in a deluxe room and sky-high pool access for QR 450!
