Stenden University Qatar held a charity fashion show at The Torch Doha hotel on 24th of June 2012 and attracted 250 guests. The event was organized under the supervision of Ms. Tahira Makda, the faculty and module coordinator for Event Management at Stenden University Qatar. The students of International Business & Management Studies organized the event as their module project. The study program International Business & Management Studies IBMS has recently been approved by the Supreme Education Council of Qatar. This four-year bachelor program is taught in English and its European degree is recognized in Qatar and globally. Admission is open until the end of August 2012 for studies starting in September 2012. “Once upon a time in Sharq” presented famous old stories from the Qatari culture in three plays which were: Ramadan Night (Qarangough), Day of Eid (Ardah) and Henna Night (Jelwah). The purpose of the event was to emphasize the traditional touch on today’s Ramadan’s fashion aligned with this spiritual time of the year, aiming at raising funds to support some social projects through Qatar Charity. The displayed collections were designed by three talented designers: Al Nashel Designs by Nora Ali, a local Qatari designer, the Saudi designer of men’s fashion Sindi and Dar Naseem Al Andalus from Bahrain. The fashion show was unique and different than the usual shows. Instead of having the classic catwalk, each designer’s collection was introduced in a play based on Qatari culture. The official sponsor of the event was Doha Bank as platinum sponsor, Ghosoon Beauty Center as golf sponsor and Merch as silver sponsor. IMG_0207.JPG
