To Repair a Damage Caused by an Accident
PARTIAL CLOSURE OF A STRETCH OF 700M IN ONE DIRECTION OF SALWA ROAD FOR 10 DAYS
Doha, October 9, 2013: Following an accident on Salwa Road, the Public Works Authority ‘Ashghal’ has announced a temporary road closure of two lanes on Salwa Road to undertake repair works in the direction going from Faleh Bin Nasser Interchange towards Wholesale Market Interchange.
The two lanes stretching 700m will be closed for essential repair work from Friday 11 October to Sunday 20 October. As a result of the accident, an amount of diesel has been spilled on the carriageway which needs to be cleared quickly to avoid damaging the road surface. Diesel, which contains petroleum, acts like a solvent on the bitumen mix and gradually weakens the road surface if not repaired on time. To mend the affected area, Ashghal will be replacing the asphalt on the damaged lanes.
To minimise disruption Ashghal plans to complete the renovation works in the shortest possible time while closing only the two damaged lanes of the road.
