Time limit set to correct legal status of expats in Qatar that violate entry, exit and residence laws: MOI

Under the provisions of Law No. 21 of 2015 regulating the entry and exit of expatriates and their residence, the Ministry of Interior announces a time limit to correct the legal status of expatriates who violate the provisions of this law, starting on 10 October 2021 and ending on 31 December 2021.

Accordingly, all violating expatriates or employers/hosts shall approach the Search and Follow-up Department or any of the following service centres: Umm Salal, Umm Suneem (Formerly Industrial Area), Mesaimeer, Al Wakra and Al Rayyan to submit a request for reconciliation regarding violations of the law above to consider exemption from reconciliation amount or reduction in it based on the provisions of the law mentioned above.

Given the above, please visit the department or services centres mentioned above, during the specified period 10 October 2021 to 31 December 2021 from 1 pm to 6 pm.

  • Expatriates who violate the residency rules
  • Expatriates who violate the work visa rules
  • Expatriates who violate family visit rules

The Ministry of Interior calls on the employers and expatriates to use this grace period for reconciliation to correct their legal status and avoid legal procedures against them for not legitimizing their status.
