European Jazz Festival 2016 — Sunday-Monday

The third edition of the popular annual event 'European Jazz Festival' will be held from November 2 to 7. This year’s edition is extraordinary in terms of the number of participating countries and the significant participation of the renowned international bands such as Atom String Quartet, Three Fall, along with many other bands that will rock Katara’s stage for the event.

DFI Cinema Presents Chinese Film Week — Sunday-Monday

In celebration of Qatar’s longstanding friendship with China, Doha Film Institute presents a showcase of important and groundbreaking cinema that has emerged from China and Hong Kong. The series features major box-office stars like Jackie Chan and Bruce Lee alongside the work of several acclaimed filmmakers, among them Chen Kaige, John Woo, Xiaogang Feng and Jia Zhang-ke.

All screenings will be followed by a question-and-answer period with Asian film expert Paolo Bertolin.

For those who wish to attend several screenings of the series, we offer a ticket package for QR100, which allows one ticket to each screening. Offer available online and in person while supplies last.

The International Friendly Match: Qatar vs. Russia — Thursday

The international friendly match Qatar vs. Russia is set for kick off and will take place at the Jassim Bin Hamad Stadium (Al Sadd).

The match – set to take place in Doha – takes significance since both

countries are preparing to host the 2018 and 2022 FIFA World Cup editions respectively.

The Russia clash comes five days ahead of Qatar’s 2018 FIFA World Cup qualifying game against China on November 15, QFA added.

Coached by Jorge Fossati, Qatar have played four Asian Zone qualifying fixtures in September and October.

Their last game was against Syria, which Qatar won at the Jassim Bin Hamad Stadium.

Currently Russia is ranked 53 while Qatar is 91 on the FIFA computer.

World Diabetes Day Walkathon 2016 — Friday

The Qatar Diabetes Association, in collaboration with Landmark Group, will organize an awareness walkathon in addition to blood sugar tests, and nutrition counseling in a huge event, which takes place every year in Doha.
