DFI’s Once Upon a Time: How to Tell a Story workshop - Sunday-Thursday

This is a great opportunity for kids to learn how to be creative storytellers. Participants are introduced to the Pixar storytelling formula, and engage in interactive exercises to help them generate ideas, write characters, and create interesting plots and narratives.

Some of the work written during the workshop may be nominated to be developed and produced during DFI’s Camera Kids workshop, which will take place in August.  Application required to be submitted by June 18.

BBQ Suhoor & Kayaking — Thursday

Enjoy a beautiful Suhoor at sunset at Al Thakhira Mangroves this weekend!

Schedule and what’s included:

90 minutes post-sunset kayaking tour at Al Thakhira Mangroves
BBQ at the Beach (bring your own meat) - everything else is provided
Bathroom / Changing facilities will be available
Two kayaking tour options available (Sunset Iftar 5PM or Suhoor at 8PM)
Water bottles will be provided
Traditional Majlis set-up with outdoor lamps

For people signing up for sunset tour: Meet at Al Meera in Al Thakhira (Northern side of Al Khor) at 4PM sharp where you’ll follow the Kayak Tour Guide to the launch point.

For people signing up for Suhoor tour: Meet at Al Meera in Al Thakhira (Northern side of Al Khor) at 7PM sharp where you’ll follow the Kayak Tour Guide to the launch point.

Kayak tour is 1.5 hours, followed by chilling at our majles set-up on the beach where you can prepare your bbq.

You will be guided back to Al Meera at the end of your tour.

MIA Park Bazaar Ramadan Edition — Saturday

During the Holy Month of Ramadan, the popular Museum of Islamic Art (MIA) Park Bazaar will be open every Saturday from 5:00 pm to midnight. There will be around 150 different stalls, reminiscent of a traditional souq! See you there!

Meerat Market at Katara — On this whole week till the end of Ramadan

The market has around 35 local shops offering a wide array of food items that are in large demand during Ramadan - such as dates, sweets, dried fruits, vegetables, bread, milk, an assortment of dairy products, and much more!
