Great news for music-lovers! Indulge yourself in the inaugural concert of a new monthly series of free chamber music at the Qatar National Library. Top musicians and singers from the Qatar Philharmonic Orchestra will showcase their talents including the MAqam Ensemble, featuring MAias Alyamani, director; Lorena Manescu, violin; Dmitri Torchinsky, violin; Anne-Cathrin Ehrlich, violin; Islam El-Hefnawy, violin; Andrea Mereutza, viola; Olivia Farkas, cello; Christoph Schmitz, cello; Sandor Onodi, double bass; Aydan Alakbarova, piano; Ferdinand Schäfer, percussion;and MAias Alyamani, violin. Music composed and arranged by MAias Alyamani and featuring excerpts from compositions from the 2011 Arab Games, Qatar Airways' music of Dana Alfardan, and music from the documentary film Kings and Queens of Qatar, about chess in Qatar.
