The Ritz-Carlton, Doha and Qatar Red Crescent proudly announced their partnership in 2013 to increase community awareness of local humanitarian initiatives. Building on Qatar Red Crescent's vision “To improve the lives of vulnerable people by mobilizing the power of humanity", QRC reaches out to organizations which share its values and goals such as The Ritz-Carlton whose “Community Footprints" program focuses on hunger and poverty relief, well-being of children and environmental conservation. Thus, Qatar Red Crescent has called upon The Ritz-Carlton, Doha to embrace the role of the Official Hospitality Partner of Qatar Red Crescent. To this end, The Ritz-Carlton, Doha will gratuitously host part of Qatar Red Crescent's annual events and activities. Among which are workshops and awareness sessions on international humanitarian law, basic and advanced first aid accredited training; and opportunities for involvement in various community-centered activities. The events are open to The Ritz-Carlton, Doha Ladies and Gentlemen as well as other targeted community groups. "Part of Qatar Red Crescent's mission is to empower communities in the face of humanitarian crisis and disasters. To do so, we organize annual activities and events that include professional development programs and training to educate and empower the public". Mr. Saleh Al-Mahanadi, the Secretary General of Qatar Red Crescent said. “We are proud to partner with The Ritz-Carlton, one of the most reputable hotels in Doha, whose hospitality reaches beyond their properties onto building stronger communities and being sensitive to surroundings. By means of hosting our events, The Ritz-Carlton, Doha demonstrates a commitment to the humanitarian cause and paves the way to helping us spread the values of gratuity and volunteerism", he added. “The Ritz-Carlton, Doha believes that we should be aligned with the noble cause of Qatar Red Crescent and give back to the community which we are part of. We have been working on numerous good-cause initiatives with Qatar Red Crescent, and it is an honor for us to be a partner of such a reputable international organization,” stated Mr. Hoss Vetry, Cluster General Manager of The Ritz-Carlton, Doha and Sharq Village and Spa. Through this unique partnership, The Ritz-Carlton, Doha will host a series of events with Qatar Red Crescent in 2013 focusing on education services and international relief and disaster management. These events include: QRC/2  World Day to Combat Cancer session: An educational session on cancer prevention and improving the quality of life of patients.  First Aid Advanced workshop: A training session focused on responding to crises, providing assistance to victims of accidents and increasing their ability to cope with injuries.  Annual meeting of shelter work group: A group consisting of representatives from Red Cross Red Crescent who are experts in the field of shelter and disaster management  Training course on global standards in disaster response: A session to define guidelines for the humanitarian charter and the minimum standards in disaster response, as agreed by international relief organizations.
