Doha: Four Seasons Hotel Doha and College of North Atlantic – Qatar, and other Canadian organisations are collaborating hand in hand to organise Terry Fox Run 2012 on February 11 at College of North Atlantic-Qatar, to spread Cancer awareness among the volunteers prior to the run and the attendees during the event. For the eighth year, Four Seasons Hotel Doha is supporting the Terry Fox Run with all the proceeds benefiting Cancer Research. The Terry Fox Run is an annual marathon held to help raise funds and awareness for finding a cure for cancer. Four Seasons Hotels and Resorts founder and CEO Isadore Sharp has made a commitment to support the annual fund raising event, the Terry Fox run since Terry Fox , a young Canadian man suffering from bone cancer, initiate the event in 1980. Although, he got his left leg amputated, Terry was determined to run across Canada to generate awareness and raise funds for Cancer research. Sharp has made a personal pledge to the Terry Fox run for cancer research until the disease is beaten. Since its inaugural, Four Seasons Hotels and Resorts followed through on its pledge to organize an annual run in Terry’s name and works closely with the Canadian Cancer Society to plan the Marathon of Hope.
