The Public Works Authority, ‘Ashghal’, announces a temporary traffic shift on 2 kilometres of East Industrial Street’s southbound lanes between East Street 33 Interchange on the Industrial Area Road and Aba Al Seleel Interchange on the G Ring Road.

The diversion, designed in collaboration with the General Directorate of Traffic, will be implemented on Friday, 11 January 2019 and will be in place for 4 months, to facilitate the completion of road works on the East Industrial Street.

During this time, all southbound traffic travelling towards the G Ring Road will be diverted to a newly constructed parallel road with three lanes, as shown in the attached map below.

Road users wishing to access Street 47 can make a U-turn and follow the signs to get directly there. Streets 47 to 52, will be accessible by exiting the East Industrial Street southbound carriageway before Aba Al Seleel Interchange at either Street 51 or 52.

For access to Streets 37 to 46, road users are advised to turn right onto Street 37, and then take the first left to get on Al Wakalat Street to access the rest of the local roads in the area.

The existing diversion on East Industrial Street northbound lanes will remain in place at Umm Al Seneem Street.

The Public Works Authority will install road signs advising motorists of the traffic change. Ashghal requests all road users to abide by the 60 kph speed limit and follow the road signs to ensure their safety.
