The Public Works Authority - Ashghal has announced in a tweet on April 24, 2022, the temporary closure of Corniche Street for two weeks.

The closure will be effective Tuesday, April 26, 2022 for two weeks.
They further stated that the closure is in place to aid the upgrade works currently that the Corniche Street is undergoing.
The left turn from Corniche Street to Mohammed Bin Thani Street will be closed; therefore, motorists may carry on straight to Markhiya Street and make a U-turn to access their destinations.
Al Rumeila Street and the U-turn at Dafna before Markhiya that are typically accessed from the left turn from Corniche Street will also be closed. Motorists much move ahead straight to Al Diwan Al-Amiri Intersection to make a U-turn to access destinations.
