As part of ongoing works on the North Road Enhancement expressway project, the Public Works Authority ‘Ashghal’ has announced a temporary closure of a local road between Al Shamal Road and Umm Slal Mohammed area effective from 19 December 2013.
To access the Umm Slal Mohammed area commuters will be required to follow the clearly marked diversion route on Al Shamal Road (as per the map attached). All road users wishing to reach Umm Slal Muhammed area and Al Shamal Road are advised to use the Al Kheesa interchange.
The Umm Slal Mohammed West road is expected to remain closed until Q1 of 2015 to complete the construction of the service roads and the new interchange within scope of North Road Enhancement Project.
The area will be covered by directional signs showing the closed roads and diversion routes to provide clear directions to commuters. Ashghal has urged all road users to respect traffic rules and regulations for their safety and the safety of others.
