In a Tweet, the Qatar Meteorology Department (QMD) has said that "It is expected that Northwesterly wind will return between Thursday evening 27/1/2022 until Sunday 30/1/2022 fresh to strong over most areas, with wind speed ranging between 12-22 kt with gusts of 30 kt at times over some areas causing blowing dust and low horizontal visibility to less than 2 km especially in open areas."

QMD also said that "Sea wave offshore will range between 5-8 ft rising to 10 ft at times at places. Northwesterly wind is accompanied by a decrease in temperature where the maximum will range between 17-23 C and the minimum between 8-15 C reaches to less than 8°C especially in southern and external areas, while the (apparent temperatures) will be less than that during night and early morning."
Qatar Meteorology Department urges all to be careful and to avoid all marine activities.
