The Qatar Meteorology Department (QMD) in a Tweet has stated that fresh strong northwesterly wind from the night of 2 January 2022, would cause high sea and a noticeable drop in temperatures.

QMD has said that "it is expected that fresh to strong Northwesterly wind will start blowing from tonight Sunday 2/1/2022 until the end of this week, with a speed ranging between 10-20 KT gusting to 30 KT at places at times, leading to blowing dust and decreasing horizontal visibility to less than 2 KM especially on open areas."
As per the latest weather update, the sea wave rises to reach 10 FT at times. Northwesterly wind are accompanied by a noticeable decrease in temperatures with the maximum ranging between 18-24 °C and the minimum between 10-17 °C and it reaches below 10 degrees Celsius in the southern and external areas and even less than that in these areas next week.
The Qatar Meteorology Department (QMD) called on everyone to take caution and avoid marine activities during the warning period.
