The day will be relatively cooler in Al Ruwais in the north of the country today as the maximum temperature forecast by the weather bureau for the place is 35 degrees Celsius, as against the average for the country at more than 40 degrees.
Highest day temperatures have been forecast for Doha and Al Khor, at 42 degrees, respectively.
In Al Ruwais night temperatures would be 31 degrees, more than that in Messaid (29 degrees) and Al Wakrah (also 29 degrees), and Dukhan and Abu Samra (30 degrees).
Doha and Al Khor, according to the forecast, will also witness highest night temperatures, at 33 degrees. Relatively cooler north-westerly winds with speeds of 15 to 25km an hour in the day that turn north-easterly later, are expected to make the weather more pleasant in Al Ruwais, while in other parts they might dilute the sting of the heat.
The wind would lose speed by night to between five and 15 km per hour, the forecast said. Offshore, the wind speed has been forecast at between eight and 22 km an hour, with the direction being northeasterly, later changing into easterly.
The bureau said in its warning for today that strong winds could blow up dust here and there with some cloud formations. The night could be humid.
