A trade and real estate investment delegation from Hong Kong and China visited Qatari Diar’s Lusail headquarters yesterday. The delegation was headed by Benjamin Chau Kai-leung, Hong Kong Trade Development Council assistant executive director. The delegation comprises some 20 prominent businessmen from real estate, investment and construction sectors from Hong Kong and the Guangdong province of China. The delegation was received by Qatari Diar deputy CEO (Operations) Hassan Essa Alfadhala and other senior executives. Issues discussed included Qatari Diar projects in Qatar and throughout the Middle East as well as tourism, agriculture and real estate developments around the world. The delegation was specifically briefed on Qatari Diar’s Lusail development. The Lusail project is one of the largest and most elaborate developments being undertaken worldwide. It will encompass not only new retail and residential opportunities, but a full array of community needs for approximately 200,000 people, complete with schools, hospitals, entertainment, and gathering centres. Lusail is a “visionary” development, essentially a new state-of-the-art city being built in Qatar. Alfadhala said, “Qatari Diar looks forward to building on our relationships in Hong Kong and China and endeavouring to mutually support sustainable real estate developments.” GT
