Sumptuous dishes from the ‘Land Down Under’ will feature at The Grill for Grand Hyatt Doha’s ‘Taste of Australia’ from January 21 to 29, celebrating Australia’s National Day. Australian guest chef Mike Tafe will take centrestage in this nine-day promotion that is sponsored by Qatar Airways and Mulwarra Export. Chef Mike, the corporate chef of Mulwarra Export, will showcase his culinary masterpieces using such Mulwarra products as premium lamb and beef, Wagyu beef, veal, seafood, poultry and specialty cheeses. The daily lunch buffet at The Grill from 23 to 29 January will focus on Australian ingredients in salads, cold appetisers, Arabic mezze, soups, carvings, grilled items, pasta dishes and desserts. Every evening throughout the promotion, guests can also enjoy a four-course set menu featuring Tataki of Wagyu Tenderloin, Grilled Blue Eye Cod and Barbecued Mussels, Smoked Mulwarra Lamb Rack and Jaffa Parfait. On Australia’s National Day, which falls on January 26, a special menu priced at QR300 per person presents a symphony of appetisers featuring Petuna Ocean Trout and Tasmanian Salmon; Spring Bay Mussels with Crabmeat; Mulwarra Double Rack of Lamb; Grilled Wagyu Tenderloin; and a Dessert Duo of Wattleseed Pavlova Roulade and Peach Melba Parfait. The Friday brunch on January 22 will be extra special as it highlights a variety of authentic products, including dairy, vegetables, sauces, cheeses, seafood, crustaceans and the range of Mulwarra products, among them lamb, Wagyu beef and prime ribs. In addition to the buffets featuring Australian products and the set dinner menus, Chef Mike will conduct a cooking class on January 24 teaching participants the proper preparation of steaks and grilled items.
