Qatar General Electricity & Water Corporation (KAHRAMAA) has launched the annual "Tarsheed" competitions 2020, which is one of the initiatives of the national program for rationalization and energy efficiency to encourage and urge society and various sectors in the country to apply best practices to rationalize the consumption of electricity, water and energy efficiency, through six competitions on rationalization techniques, renewable energy, and community awareness.

KAHRAMAA stated that in the field of rationalization techniques, "Tarsheed" Competition for buildings comes in its eighth edition with the aim of spreading awareness about the concept of rationalized construction among all segments of society, and spreading public awareness about the benefits of applying sound practices to rationalize electricity and water in construction, and mobilizing the local community to adopt strategies to conserve the environment and energy efficiency, as well as motivating participants to adopt rationalization practices in the building and construction market in the local market, where participation can be made for buildings from the governmental, residential, commercial, industrial and hospitality sectors, and the competition will last until March 10, 2020.

KAHRAMAA has called on various groups of society to submit their various activities to participate in the competitions, where competitions and terms and conditions can be found on the KAHRAMAA website.

KAHRAMAA explained that the evaluation of the submitted posts will be carried out by a committee of experts that includes representatives of research centers, universities and ministries according to specific criteria in each competition, and the winners of the competitions of all categories will be honored in the eighth annual "Tarsheed" celebration that will be held next April as a role model in the field of rationalization of consumption and energy efficiency.

KAHRAMAA through the national program for rationalization and energy efficiency "Tarsheed" and within the framework of its social responsibility, launches "Tarsheed" competitions annually in order to encourage society and urge it to implement sound practices of rationalization and energy efficiency that help to reduce electricity or water consumption and reduce carbon emissions, in order to achieve the objectives of the national program according to the second national development strategy (2018-2022).
