From March 13th to 19th, talabat, the leading local tech company, celebrated Qatar National Product Week, an initiative launched Under the patronage of His Excellency Sheikh Khalid bin Khalifa bin Abdulaziz Al-Thani, Prime Minister and Minister of Interior, and organized by the Ministry of Commerce and Industry, in cooperation with Qatar Development Bank, to promote Qatari products and enhance efforts to localize supply chains.
The initiative included several events and activities throughout the week, to support Qatari products, thus enhancing the State’s efforts to achieve self-sufficiency and economic diversification.
The Qatar National Product Week, featuring a focus on national products, celebrates the successful journey of Qatari entrepreneurs while providing them with multiple new opportunities to grow their businesses.
To further support and promote the initiative, as well as raise awareness about national products, Qatari products were predominantly highlighted on the talabat application (including talabat Mart) throughout the week, and free delivery on local brands was offered to talabat customers. Additionally, talabat participated in a series of online webinars to discuss how companies can maximize their potential and create more sales opportunities by diversifying their offering and exploring new verticals.
Francisco Miguel De Sousa, Managing Director of talabat Qatar says, “Our journey supporting local production began years ago, from providing marketing support to exporting ‘Made in Qatar’ items to other countries.
We are looking forward to raising awareness of local products during the Qatar National Product Week, keeping in line with our commitment to support local entrepreneurs as a community-focused company. Our continuous effort to bring a positive impact to the community we’re a part of is what drives us daily.
“We strongly support Made in Qatar products by enabling local entrepreneurs to grow and develop their businesses through talabat. It is our mission to continuously support the local ecosystem, and we ensure that all of our initiatives do so, in alignment with Qatar's 2030 National vision”, adds De Sousa.
