Qatar Calendar House said Saturday that Qatar will witness a supermoon on March 9.
The moon will appear larger by 14 percent and will be 30 percent more luminous. This is a result of the moon is closer than usual to the earth, roughly 354 thousand kilometers away. Qatar Calendar House's expert Dr. Bashir Marzouk said that the last time there was a supermoon was on February 9, with the next one coming on April 8 of this year.
