In Doha people may find it hard to both look good and not suffocate from the extreme heat. It’s totally understandable that there’s a certain way to dress, and not to dress, particularly in adherence to cultural and religious norms. However it’s always important to be aware of where you’re going before you decide what to wear. In public spaces you should dress more modestly, but if you’re going to beaches, hotels, and private establishments you can dress as required by the venue. We know that the “heat is on” so we’ve come up with a list of trendy summer fashion ideas that women should try out while spending the summer in Doha.

This trend is really popular at the moment! Not to mention that it looks fabulous too. Off-shoulder tops come in various styles and can be found at places like Zara, Mango, and H&M.

Before people say anything in protest to this suggestion, you can totally wear crop tops in both a classy and appropriate way. You just can’t show your midriff area (kind of inappropes to wear in public), and the way to avoid this is by wearing high waisted pants or skirts with your crop top.
Wide and Loose-Fit Trousers

Wearing these kind of trousers is absolute bliss in the summer. It’s so nice and airy for your legs, and you even have the option to dress it up or dress it down! It’s a matter of accessories and what top you decide to pair with your pants. These trousers also come in different patterns and colors, so you can choose what you like.
Culottes

Culottes are trousers that are loose too, but that are a bit above your ankles (kind of below your calves). These are also ideal for the summer, and can be worn formally too.
Midi and Maxi Skirts

Skirts are perfect for extreme heat. Both mid-length and full length skirts are great to wear in Doha’s humid and intense weather. You can literally find maxi skirts anywhere, but midi skirts (I like them with a bit of flare), are a bit harder to find. Riva generally has gorgeous midi skirts, but are a bit on the pricier side.
Kimonos

Kimonos are like light throw overs, so not exactly sweaters, but they work in the same way. They’re made with lighter, softer materials and look super classy.
Midi and Maxi Dresses

Dresses are great to wear in the summer! However in Doha, it’s best to stick to mid-length and longer dresses. It’s better to wear bright colors, and dresses with patterns. They’re more reflective of the summer season.
Wide-brimmed and Floppy Hats

One of the best ways to protect yourself from the sun, and from getting burned, is to buy a wide-brimmed or floppy hat. They’re super chic and practical too!
