The future of 170 students and staff members of an Independent School is at stake as the management of the school has suddenly decided to close it, Al Sharq reported yesterday. The management has put up a notice asking the parents of the students to come to the school and collect their files so they can try for admission elsewhere. Many parents spoke to expressed anger and said they had no idea where to go for admission of their children at this time of the year when admissions are already closed in all schools. The staff members of the school, including teachers, have urged the Supreme Education Council, regulators of Independent Schools, to intervene and save their jobs. The daily said efforts to contact the officials of the school failed so the reason why the institution is being closed down at such a short notice is not known. http://thepeninsulaqatar.com/Display_news.asp?section=Local_News&subsection=Qatar+News&month=September2009&file=Local_News2009091622555.xml
