Students and staff at Park House English School, one of Qatar’s leading international schools, with the support of Vodafone’s World of Difference programme, have organised a series of activities as part of their ongoing efforts to raise funds to expand The Thuay Xuan Kindergarten School in Hue City, Vietnam. Park House students organised a Staff vs. Student Volleyball tournament which took place last Thursday, March 12th at the school. In addition, students will be taking part in a sponsored silence and throughout this week students can participate in Gaming Week which will conclude with a game of Staff vs. Student Ultimate Frisbee on Thursday, 26th March.

So far, students have raised 800 QR from the Volleyball Tournament and a further 1,300 QR from a bake sale that was held over the weekend. All of the funds raised will go towards the ongoing development of the Kindergarten and Park House aims to raise QAR 10,000 in total. Staff and students from Park House will also be visiting the site and the local community of Hue City from April 5-7, 2015, where they will have the chance to witness the positive impact that the Kindergarten continues to have on the children, parents and the local community.

Park House places a strong emphasis on community involvement and students are encouraged to give back to the communities that they live in. The community involvement phase of this trip to Vietnam will give Park House students the unique opportunity to immerse themselves in a community and gain insight into a rich, new culture. Park House students will also be given an introduction into the language and day to day routine of Vietnamese life.
