The “Green Guitar’ event hosted by the environmental group Help Our Planet Earth (HOPE) at Qatar International School yesterday drew an enthusiastic response from students, teachers and parents. Bands from different schools performed to highlight the challenge of global warming and shared their concerns about the state of the planet and how human intervention has changed the environment over the years. The HOPE committee and students at Qatar International School have been working over the last three years to educate the wider community about adopting an eco-friendly lifestyle. The campaign has its focus on the need to use alternative energy, using environment-friendly vehicles, the need for preserving rainforests and recycling paper, plastic, aluminium and glass.
