Stenden University Qatar marks graduation

Stenden University Qatar celebrated the graduation of Class 2017, in a colourful ceremony, which took place at the Rotana City Centre Hotel in Doha.

The ceremony was under the patronage of His Excellency Sheikh Faisal bin Qassim Al Thani, and was attended by many special guests, ambassadors, and heads of different organisations.

“Today you gain the fruit of the efforts you have exerted for several years, and you offer your parents the fruits of their care and upbringing. Stenden University is honoured to present you as soldiers for society, armed with knowledge and virtue as a fruit of your teachers' efforts and the university staff's efforts.” said H.E. Sheikh Faisal bin Qassim Al Thani while addressing the audience.

He congratulated the families of the graduates and added: “I am honored, in the name of Stenden University, to thank your parents and to congratulate you, wishing you a bright future. I would like to also thank the university’s management for what it does to develop the university and its curricula.”

Mr. Leendert Klaassen, President of the Executive Board of Stenden University, declared in his speech to the graduates: “Every year thousands of young people, people like you, start their studies at different locations of Stenden, worldwide. Wondering what the world out there holds for them, with dreams set out for themselves. All with the ambitions of building a brighter future for themselves, and maybe for others. Our responsibility is to help you, and all our other students, building that future, reaching those dreams and ambitions. This is very important to us, realising your future is fundamental to the communities here in Qatar. ”

Dr. Ivan Ninov, Executive Dean of Stenden University Qatar, addressed the graduates by saying: “This is a very special day in your life and you have reached a very important milestone in your personal and professional development. We are confident that we have been able to provide you with the tools for a successful life and career. Stenden has influenced you and you have influenced Stenden, and you will always remain an important part of the Stenden family.”

The two top performing graduating students, Farukh Azad and Jethro Delgado, delivered inspiring speeches and shared their personal experiences at Stenden University Qatar. Farukh Azad was also awarded with the prize for “Best Dissertation”.
