Every week, ILQ features a different Qatari startup in our ‘Startup of the Week’ segment. Qatar has some of the most creative, unique, and impactful startups in the region, and we cover them all across a variety of industries in Doha—from fashion and beauty, to food and dining, health, education, sports, and more!

This week, we're RSVP-ing for Qatar Events—your one-stop app where you can find all the relevant and fun events happening in the country! Available on both IOS and Android, the app allows you to find, filter and color code events based on the date, category, distance, and organizer channels.

Qatar Events' Sales and Marketing Manager Gulzar Ahmed revealed that the app was developed after the founders have realized that there's a great demand for an all-in-one outlet where people can access all the important events happening in Qatar in just one click.

"Just like the majority, we're also getting tired of hearing about events by the time that they're already ongoing or worse—done and over. Waking up in the morning and hearing that everybody just went to a lit gig that you've never heard of is always a strange and regretful feeling. With the Qatar Events app, we can avoid all these," Gulzar noted.

With the promise of keeping you posted with every round-the-clock events happening in Qatar, the app is totally downloadable for free and unlike most apps out there, Qatar Events won't encourage you to buy a premium account as each feature—including an updated events list—is accessible with just one tap!

And as organizers are allowed to list events under their 'channel' on the app to promote with accurate information in a timely manner, the app will definitely be worth it to download as it is efficient and user-friendly for both event-goers and for those who want to list their events.

Qatar Events started as a Twitter account a couple of years ago that would share events of all sorts that the admins could find online then after a few months, it launched a Facebook page and the rest is history. With more than 250,000 followers on Twitter and Facebook combined and now an app, Qatar Events has undeniably and incredibly grown. Not only is Qatar Events a vital part of the ILQ Network, they've also got their own Weekend Roundup show on Youtube, and a weekly newsletter too!

To take things to the next level, the app was launched nearly a month ago to transform the lives of locals and expats in Qatar. Officially available for download early this month, the Qatar Events app is enjoying a mostly-positive average rating from its early users. Besides its user-friendliness which transcends all the app's already innovative features, users are also praising its trendy and millenial-looking user interface.

Once you download the app, an upcoming feature of having the option to arrange and book rides with Qatar Taxi or Careem based on your choice of getting around to your events and also book your tickets along with it—within the app—will also be available soon.

For clients who are interested to post their events or want to be a channel organizer on the app, contact Gulzar. You can check out his contact details and the app's social media links below!
