Doha, Qatar – Starlink, Qatar’s leading communications and media retail and logistics business, is the first and only Doha-based retailer, alongside Qtel, to sell the latest version of the Samsung Galaxy, which includes Arabic software. From Thursday 21st July Starlink and Qtel will be exclusively selling the Samsung Galaxy S2 with software that will allow for the use of Arabic characters. As an added bonus, Starlink will offer a bundle package with the sale of every handset which will include a funky case, a leather pouch and a 50QR voucher to be redeemed against any other Starlink purchase. The Galaxy S2 is an 8.49mm ultra-thin phone featuring a 4.3" screen using bright Super AMOLED Plus technology. The phone, which is powered by a 1.2GHz dual core processor, features Android 2.3, the operating system code-named Gingerbread, which promises faster speeds, and power management for applications to extend battery life. Commenting on the exclusivity deal, Keki Ashburner, Starlink’s CEO, said: ‘Samsung’s latest smartphone has proved extremely popular in other markets around the world and is all set to be one of the biggest sellers here in Qatar too.’ Ashburner continued: ‘This is a top of the range handset with some outstanding features including a superb touchscreen, HD video and enhanced Android OS providing immediate access to endless great apps.’ ‘The Galaxy S2 is a beautifully styled, powerful little phone that will really hold its own against some of its more established competitors.’ ‘We fully expect this phone to fly off the shelves and we are delighted to be able to offer this phone specifically for our Arabic speaking customers,’ Ashburner concluded. The display on the Samsung Galaxy S2 has an ultrafast response time for smoother graphics and PC-like browsing while the phone's Live Panel customizable software allows easy access for users to see personalized content such as photos, music, video text messages, e-mail, notes games and weather all on the same screen. In addition to the WiFi options available on the S2, quick download speeds of up to 21 Mbps are achievable in places covered by 3G. The 8 megapixel camera offers a number οf image enhancing capabilities such аѕ autofocus, LED flash, face & smile detection, аnd touch-concentrate which results in still images οf stunningly high quality. The camera аlѕο provides thе ability tο shoot video footage іn HD. A Reader's Hub will allow access to books, magazines and newspapers and the crisp, sharp text will impress users. The phone also provides Adobe Flash player capabilities, which translates to easy viewing of YouTube videos. The cost of the Samsung Galaxy S2 at Starlink, including the bundle package, is QR 2,599 and, customers getting a Shahry Value Pack to use with their Galaxy S2 will receive free unlimited Social Networking until the end of August 2011.
