Stallions Academy wins Qatar under-14 Inter Academy Cricket Tournament
Stallions Academy, the leading Youth Cricket Academy in Qatar, won the recently concluded under-14 Inter Academy Cricket Tournament. The tournament was organized by the Doha Cricket Academy For the second consecutive year with more than 6 teams taking part. The final was played on 4th April between Stallions and Doha Cricket Academy.
Commenting on the Stallions achievement, their head coach, Sidath Tennakoon said “We are delighted with this win. The team played really well and it’s a fulfilling experience to see young players perform so well as a team. As an academy we are very keen on teaching them cricket skills and also other attributes such as leadership and sportsmanship. Tournaments such as this help them to fine tune all those skills”
Stallions players won special awards as well for their performances. Navjot Singh was named Best All-rounder, and Ameesha Jabir as Best Bowler of the tournament, while Romelo Kumarage was adjudged the Best Performer of the Final.
Stallions Cricket Academy, which started in 2013, has made great strides as a cricket academy in Qatar. They have already toured the UK in 2014 and are preparing now to tour Sri Lanka in August. Stallions Sports Services WLL has a group of passionate coaches who are well-qualified and experienced in coaching cricket, and who have also played first class cricket around the world. The academy in Qatar was launched with the purpose of developing the beautiful game of cricket in Qatar, and to provide opportunities to aspiring young cricketers to have the opportunity to learn from qualified coaching staff.
