Qatar has expressed its strong condemnation and denunciation of the stabbing incident at the French Consulate in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia, which resulted in the injury of a security guard. The Saudi who stabbed the guard has been taken into custody.
This whole incident took place some time after three people were killed in Nice, France and several were injured at a church amid tensions that surround French President Emmanuel Macron's support of Charlie Hebdo and its caricatures of the Holy Prophet Muhammad (Peace Be Upon Him). He vowed measures against what he called “Islamic separatism,”according to a report written by Safaa Kasraoui for the Morocco World News, and even said that Islam was "in crisis", as reported by Al Jazeera.
In a statement today, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs reiterated Qatar's firm position of rejecting violence and terrorism regardless of the motives and reasons.
The Ministry expresses the wishes of Qatar to the wounded for a speedy recovery.
