After kicking off its festive season with a special tree lighting this week, The St. Regis Doha unveils a wide variety of promotions and events for the whole family this December. At the ceremony, more than 300 guests watched the illumination of the six-metre-high tree, listened to a youth choir from the Qatar Music Academy sing holiday carols, and took pictures in front of Qatar’s largest gingerbread house. “Throughout December, all of The St. Regis Doha venues are celebrating the spirit of the season with new decorations, and are hosting a wide variety of winter wonderland events for the whole family,” said Tareq Derbas, General Manager of the St. Regis Doha. “We have prepared a calendar of events that offers something for everyone, whether guests want to celebrate a traditional Christmas, welcome 2013 with top Lebanese musicians, or simply relax with a barbeque on the beach.” On 24 December, guests can enjoy a special Gala Dinner in the hotel lobby, featuring “A Taste of The St. Regis Doha” – a five-course festive menu prepared by the culinary team. Guests can relax with the Sherman Irby Quintet straight from Jazz at Lincoln Center Doha, while Santa surprises children with gifts. Guests who prefer to celebrate in a more intimate setting can choose to dine on traditional specialities at the Gordon Ramsay Doha restaurant. Following on 25 December, families can enjoy an extensive brunch at the Vine terrace, which includes surprise gifts for children. Guests can also enjoy a British brunch at Opal by Gordon Ramsay, featuring festive favourites, or Afternoon Tea with special themed cakes at the Sarab Lounge. On New Year’s Eve, The St. Regis Doha will host a gala dinner in the Grand Ballroom with entertainment by superstar Nawal Al Zoghbi and band, the guru of oriental beat DJ Said Mrad and Lebanese belly dancer Vanessa. Guests who want a different live music experience can attend Jazz at Lincoln Center Doha’s “Jazzy!” evening, featuring a five-course menu and the swinging sounds of the Sherman Irby Quintet. Also on 31 December, guests can enjoy a seven-course fine dining experience at Gordon Ramsay designed by Michelin-starred chef Gilles Bosquet, a festive set menu at Astor Grill, or a grand buffet at Vine Restaurant. All in-house and dining guests can count down to midnight in the lobby terrace, and welcome 2013 with the hotel’s resident reggae band. On New Year’s Day, guests can enjoy brunches at Vine Restaurant or Opal by Gordon Ramsay, or a relaxing sunset beach barbeque at Oyster Bay that overlooks the sparkling Arabian Gulf.
