Sports fans make merry at QF Fan Zone

Doha,April,05:Hundreds of excited fans and spectators visited Qatar Foundation for Education, Science and Community Development last night to participate in a series of football-themed competitions before watching a live screening of the Paris St-Germain(PSG) vs FC Barcelona (FCB) Champions League quarter-final first leg. At the Qatar Foundation – FC Barcelona Champions League Fan Zone, signed FCB shirts were awarded to those members of the assembled crowd who demonstrated especially skillful footwork. An enthralling matcht hen played out on a giant screen in front of the captivated audience. Qatar Foundation’s ongoing partnership with FCB is underpinned by a shared mission to unlock human potential, and to encourage the pursuit of excellence in young people worldwide, and those present were treated to a superb demonstration of sporting endeavour. The match finished 2-2, with the tie finely poised ahead of next week’s second leg. One lucky winner, who correctly guessed the time of the first goal, will be travelling to Barcelonato witness the game in person, courtesy of Qatar Foundation. Tariq Al-Sada, Head of the Press Office at Qatar Foundation, said, “We are delighted to welcome so many people to our Fan Zone event, which has been a roaring success. We received a varied cross-section of the community, who really entered into the spirit of things, demonstrating that passion drives us all.” Qatar Foundation will be opening up its Fan Zone for the second leg of the FCB vs PSG tie, beginning at 8pm next Wednesday, 10th April.
