Speaking to Qatar Radio, Colonel Jaber Mohamed Rashid Odaiba, Assistant Director of the Media and Traffic Awareness Department at the General Directorate of Traffic said there is a special section in the department to seize violators for drifting in public places.

The official also said, "if the drifting is done in public places between neighbourhoods that will risk people's lives or damage public property we will take the legal measures in less than 24 hours against the violators".

The official added that the Investigation Section of the General Directorate of the Traffic strictly monitors such cases. He also mentioned that people are cooperating with the department and the residents can send pictures of violators.
