Fifty One East, the leading retail chain in Qatar, and Sony commemorated a record-breaking local market share of 40% turning the country into Sony’s top market worldwide. On the occasion, the Darwish Holding Technology Team welcomed Sony Corporation’s senior vice president (Global Sales and Marketing group) Kiyoshi Shikano and Sony Gulf managing director Osamu Miura. The Sony team toured Fifty One East’s different outlets at Al Maha, City Center, Virgin Megastores in Villaggio and Landmark in addition to a preview of the Lagoona mall which is slated to open its doors later this year. “We are very happy to be in Qatar and to witness the amazing enthusiasm of a county which is gearing up to kick-start a gigantic pipeline of construction in its preparation to stage the Fifa World Cup in 2022,” Shikano said. “We, at Sony, are very confident that this global event will stimulate an unprecedented growth in the next few years and we’re looking forward to being a significant partner along this path. “During our visit, we met with key business partners and gleaned first-hand feedback of the first-class services that Darwish Holding Technology Team and Fifty One East offer to the Qatari market on behalf of Sony,” Shikano added. Miura recalled that Sony’s partnership with Darwish Holding has stretched successfully over several decades. “We have been guaranteed a world-class image for our brand and consumer electronics products owing to Fifty One East’s unfaltering efforts to uphold the long-standing equity of the brand.
