UPDATE: 4 June 2022

Snoonu owner, Hamad Al-Hajri tweeted an update on the morning of 3 June 2022. In a thread, he explained how the situation happened and also mentioned that they have the name and address of the person responsible for the issue. He added that the subject is currently in the hands of the Cybercrime Police.

أحد المستخدمين من فريق التسويق موظفة لم تتبع ضوابط باسوردات الشركة بحكم أنها في قطر تعتبر نفسها آمنة وغير وارد ( مثل الي ينزل ويترك موتره شغال ) الضوابط لدينا ١٢ كود مابين أرقام ، حروف ،رموز مثل Hxsw@2568_s والأخت اليوزرنيم Snoonu والباسورد نفسه مع ارقام بسيطة ! وهنا كانت الثغرة

والسؤال كيف وصل لأرقامنا ؟ طبيعي جداً لأن موظفة التسويق ترفع قوائم الأرقام على حسب الفئة المستهدفة من ال CRM مثل ( مستخدم iPhone / مستخدم/ Android / عملاء لم يشترون / عملاء أوفياء ) مع عدم استخدام ال sms لانه مزعج إلا بالضرورة وهنا شكل البرنامج بشكل عام ( برنامج مشابه ) pic.twitter.com/l4M59fkXkM

١- كُل موظف بالشركة عليه تغيير الباسورد شهرياً مع وضع باسورد مُركب من حروف وأرقام ورموز ( ١٢ كود ) ٢- أستخدام 2 factors authentication وموجود في البنية التحتية لدينا ولكن بعض البرامج ليست بها من الأصل وأبلغنا شريكنا أُريد باحتياجنا لها ٣- كل مازاد نجاحك أحرص أكثر فالحساد كثار 😁

A number of Snoonu users have posted on social media their concern over the SMS blast that they received from the Snoonu number as it sends the following message: "Rafeeq missed you! Please order from Rafeeq instead of Snoonu."

Users have used their platform to express their shock and disbelief in what has happened.

As per the owner of Snoonu, the issue has already come to their attention and they have already taken the necessary actions for the sudden SMS blast. The company has already reported the issue to the Cybercrime Police.

للتوضيح : هناك برنامج لإرسال المسجات الدعائية تم استخدامه من قبل شركة منافسة بطريقة غير أخلاقية وتم الابلاغ في شرطة الجرائم الالكترونية وسنطالب بحقنا الكامل .. والتوسع الإقليمي أوجع بعض القلوب الضعيفة :)
