After a 2-year long break from the limelight, Skydive Qatar (SDQ) announced last week they will officially begin accepting skydiving professionals and enthusiasts for registration on their opening day at the Dropzone in Um Al Shkhot Airfield on March 17 (Saturday).

Being the most common and preferred, a tandem skydive is the quickest and easiest way to experience the thrill of free fall at over 120 miles per hour, while securely attached in a harness to one of SDQ'S world-class instructors.

Included in the package is a video footage of yourself flying on free air, captured by SDQ's talented camera flyers so that you can re-live every sensational second again and again, and share it with your friends and family around the world!

As a world-class skydiving facility, SDQ doesn't only offer an opportunity to skydive, but also to educate you to practice it in the safest way possible.

On March 10 (Saturday), SDQ conducted their first annual USPA Safety Day test at the SDQ Dropzone in Um Al Shkhot Airfield ahead of their first day of flight on March 17. The test results showed that no participating skydiver is in High Risk Zone, meaning everything is set for next Saturday when SDQ's first batch of daredevils starts jumping!

SDQ's team of instructors presented a slew of safety tips to the participants to be safer and more aware skydivers. For the professional skydivers, the Safety Day provided them a great opportunity to fortify all safety issues before getting ready for action.

Safety is SDQ's number one priority; that's why it's important for them to provide their jumpers with pointers and things to remember when indulging in an extreme sport such as skydiving. Open to all skydivers of all levels, the safety test also saw fun quizzes and group games to test the participants' skydiving knowledge!

Whether you’re living locally or just visiting, a tandem skydiving experience over the beautiful desert dunes and the lovely view of the sea is a must-try when in Qatar!

There are three ways to make a reservation for your jump:

  1. Go to their website and pay via credit card.
  2. Go to Skydive Qatar's Doha office located in Aljazeera International Group Building, Building 36, 3rd Floor, Jawaan Street and pay by credit or debit card.
  3. Or... pay directly at the Dropzone in advance or on the date of jump.

You can book for a tandem jump, AFF course or fun jump. Price for a tandem jump during weekends is QR 2,249 and a discounted price of QR 1,999 is up for grabs only during a weekday jump.
