It’s no secret that every lady desires to have flawless skin. But Qatar's weather all year long doesn’t help you achieve that. Sometimes it’s humid, sometimes it’s way too dry. And the makeup craze these days isn’t helping your skin either. So we're going to share some easy, natural and effortless tips with the lazy girls of Qatar who want to look good but hate putting in the effort to take care of their skin.

Summer tips:

Summer stress can and will upset your skin. You leave the house with a dolled up face and return so tired that removing those layers seems the last thing you want to do.

  • Apply minimal (skin-friendly) makeup in summer. Always keep a water bottle with you (squeeze a ½ lemon in it).
  • Remove the makeup as soon as you return home (using a bit of olive oil on tissue paper can work very well for removing).
  • Rub a lemon on your face to exfoliate it and moisturize the skin before going to sleep. (You can also rub a lemon + honey mixture on the face for 10 minutes before bed. It will do both the exfoliating and moisturizing)

Humidity tips:

Humid climates are my most hated ones. My skin feels sticky and clogged all the time. And the struggle to keep it fresh is real.

  • Start and end your day with a face wash or cleanser. (Rubbing a lemon is just fine too)
  • But the cleansing is going to leave your skin dehydrated so moisture it right after or else breakouts may occur.
  • Wash your face with cold water infused with a few drops of rosewater. (You can easily find it in stores)
  • Carry some tissue papers with you for wiping purposes if you leave the house. Wash your face with water every time you perspire/sweat (or at least 3-4 times a day)
  • And of course, drink water.

Winter tips:

Winters are a challenge for my skin because it is naturally dry and winter makes it even worse. Because I am a lazy girl, I don’t make the effort to keep it healthy during this time. But there are a few tips that I can give for ladies who also struggle.

  • Moisturize, moisturize and moisturize.
  • Apply Vaseline on your heels, ankles, elbows and lips before sleep. You can also wrap your heels in socks for better effect.
  • Wash your face with lukewarm water.
  • Cover your skin from the cold with scarves, gloves etc.

Apart from climatic skin tips, these are some ‘passed-down-from-my-grandma’ tips that I follow religiously. Smile, wear lipstick and daily gentle face massages. They are super simple but the effect is ever-lasting. My mother always tells me that moisturizing overnight, and keeping your fingers away from your face is the best thing to do. I promise all the lazy girls, if you follow all these tips, you will see a difference in minimal effort.
