Sidra Medical and Research Center to open doors for patients in 2015

The long waited Sidra Medical and Research Center will open its doors for patients in 2015, said a senior official yesterday. The ultramodern medical center which aims to set new standards in patient care for women and children in Qatar and the region will open its door in the first quarter of 2015, said Qatar Foundation’s new President Engineer Saad Al Muhannadi. He revealed the information in answering a question during a press conference held to officially announce about the World Innovation Summit for Health at the Four Seasons Hotel. “A hospital is not a building, it includes, services, facilities and equipment and everything should be ready for opening. Services at the Sidra are planed to be very innovative,” said Al Muhannadi. “The building will be completed by the end of this year and then training will be provided for the staff and other facilities and services will be arranged. It will open with a very high level of competence,” he added. Sidra will work closely with its academic partner Weill Cornell Medical College in Qatar (WCMC-Q) and Hamad Medical Corporation in regard to reaching three goals , raising the standard of health care throughout the country and providing valuable opportunities for research and learning.
