DOHA: Georgetown University School of Foreign Service in Qatar (SFS-Qatar) hosted the fourth Annual Community Fair at its new campus recently. More than 45 exhibitors, a record for the ever-growing event, set up kiosks as hundreds of Education City community members indulged in fun, food, entertainment, exchange of information and community-level networking. The Fair has been designed to provide an opportunity to newcomers and residents to discover what Doha has to offer as well as to mingle with the greater Education City community. Organised by SFS-Qatar’s Human Resources Department, the event’s exhibitor list featured community organisations, a veterinary clinic, multiple auto brands, health and beauty, employee recruitment, sports and leisure clubs and tourism and travel companies. “In a sign of growing success, this year’s Fair had 47 exhibitors compared to 30 last year. With food provided by Georgetown and some of the best known hotels in town, and raffle prizes ranging from airline tickets to gift vouchers and more, the Community Fair had something for everyone,” said an organiser. On the community front, such home-grown organisations as the American Women’s Association, Boot Camp, Doha Mums, Doha SubAqua Club, H2O Swimming, Sustainable Qatar, The Art of Abundant Living, and The Green Box engaged with the fairgoers. The Bloomsbury Qatar Foundation Publishing saw a heightened state of interest just as it gave away a collection of books as prizes, while Boot Camp offered one free month of camp; The Art of Abundant Living gave a unique dream board tool; The Green Box offered a QR215 gift certificate; the American Women’s Association presented jewellery Internationally-renowned names, the Doha Community Orchestra, The Doha Debates, Doha Film Institute, Reach Out To Asia, Regatta Sailing were also swamped with visitors and inquiries. Food for mind and body was promoted by Yama Yoga, Casa Massa, Face Body Soul and Lady Siam Massage.
