Qatar experienced severe dusty conditions, backed by strong winds starting from noon Monday and similar weather is expected throughout Tuesday as well, according to the forecasters .
The enormity of dust in the air caused a considerable fall in visibility across the country and owing to strong winds, work at several sites were adversely affected.
The shift in climatic conditions has resulted in a fall in both the minimum and maximum temperatures. The weather office has predicted a minimum of 21 degrees and a maximum of 31 degrees for Tuesday.
Though the situation was not as severe as that on April 1, the dust forced many of the residents indoors.
Winds would continue to go up to the region of 35 to 40 knots today. Chances are that it may drop either late in the evening.
Visibility may come down to one kilometre or even less, the Met office said .
The sea will be choppy and waves as high as 9 - 13 feet have been forecast. The fishermen are advised not to venture into the sea.
A report from Kuwait said sand storms could continue to lash that country for at least 100 days . Monday Kuwait was hit by a massive dust storm and a number of schools remained closed.
Similar weather conditions have also been forecast for Saudi Arabia during the next five days.
